RePLAY: Another wave of Resident Evil 6
information, GameStop is ordered to post warning signs on games with DLC and
players can unlock playable Metal Sonic in Sonic 4: Episode 2.
For whatever reason, Resident Evil 6 information seems to
come in zombie-sized hordes, and the latest release from Capcom is no exception
with new story details, multiplayer reveals and an updated launch date.
For starters, the
mysterious mercenary that we’ve seen in the first trailer is finally revealed
as Jack Mueller. He is the son of Albert Wesker and his blood may contain the
keys to solving the latest outbreak.
On the multiplayer
front, Capcom has announced that Resident
Evil 6, like its predecessor, will have both online and split-screen
cooperative modes. Unlike Resident Evil 5,
players can now drop-in and drop-out as they wish and not be restricted to
checkpoints or restart chapters.
Mercenaries mode will
also make an appearance in Resident Evil
6 and is unlocked from the start. More multiplayer options like new co-op
mechanics are to be announced in the future.
And finally, Capcom
has heard the cries of fans that want their Resident
Evil fix and has moved the game’s release date from November 20th to
October 2nd.

In a decision that may
come to a GameStop near you, the United States District Court of Northern
California has ordered the retailer to post signs on used games in California
stores to warn consumers that certain DLC may cost them.
The lawsuit alleged that
games sold by GameStop prevented consumers from accessing certain DLC unless
they paid an additional $15, despite video games advertising free DLC with the
purchase of the game.
“We are pleased that
as a result of this lawsuit, we were able to obtain complete restitution for
consumers, with actual money paid out to people who were harmed by GameStop’s
conduct,” said Baron and Budd attorney Mark Pifko.
“The in-store and
online warnings are important benefit under the settlement as well, because if
GameStop discloses the truth to consumers, it is unlikely that they will be
able to continue selling used copies of certain games for only $5 less than the
price of a new copy,” Pifko explained.
“In fact, we already
know that not long after the lawsuit was filed, GameStop lowered prices for
used copies of many of the games titled identified in the lawsuit.”
